I am currently 25 years old and live in Ohio. I grew up in a somewhat small town where I played baseball and wrestled. I decided to give up wrestling after my sophomore year of high school to pursue baseball and try to become a college baseball player. I constantly did baseball all year round. Fall ball then winter workouts then spring ball and then summer ball and restart the cycle again. My senior year I still wasn't sure what I wanted to do in terms of selecting a college, but I ended up staying in Ohio to go to an NAIA school. In my freshman year of college, I found out my UCL was torn and that I needed Tommy John surgery. I went to school and participated in Fall Workouts to see if I could try to push through so I didn't need to get surgery, but the pain was too extreme. I came back but was never the same, my velocity dropped considerably which destroyed my confidence on the mound completely. Luckily, I knew how to throw a Knuckleball which helped me deal with my dip in velocity. I played out the rest of my career even though, at times, I wanted to quit because I felt like a completely different player than I had been my whole life. I ended up graduating in 2021 and got married that August. This past year I moved into a house and had a baby boy. Now I am trying to find something to fill that sports void inside me and thought writing and talking about it online with other people would help fill that hole.
